WHERE IS YOUR LOVE? – Day 26
Text: 1 CHRONICLES 29:1-30
Memory Verse: Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house (1 Chronicles 29:3)
Message: I have always believed that, what we give is not only a function of what we have, but a function of our depth of love for God. David wanted to build a sanctuary for God but God stopped him, because he had fought too many wars and shed so much blood. God decided to choose Solomon his son. That tells us that it is a great privilege for God to choose you and I to build for Him. It is not everyone that wants to build for God that He permits or allows. Therefore, it is a great privilege when God chooses someone to do any assignment for Him. David knew that it was his son that was chosen but he went ahead and provided most of the things that would be needed for the building of the temple. Some would have folded their arms and do nothing but not David, a man of sacrifice and deep understanding of God. He said that the house to be built is not for man but for God. What a level of understanding. It is your depth of love for God and your level of understanding that determine the quality of what you give to God. David said he was able to give so much because he set his affection on the house of God. The question is, where is your love for God? It is time to demonstrate it by the way we get involved in God’s work and how we give in His kingdom.
Wisdom Nugget: The depth of your love for God and the depth of your understanding of Him determine your response to giving.
Prayer Point: Father, help me to love you more and help me to know you more in Jesus name.
