THIS DAY IS A DAY OF GOOD TIDINGS – Day 113

Text: 2 KINGS 7:1-20

Memory Verse: Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household (2 Kings 7:9)

Message: The story we just read is a very interesting and fascinating one. God destroyed lack and scarcity in the land of Samaria through the prophetic words of Elisha by using ordinary four lepers to scatter the enemies that besieged the city. The four lepers who had earlier thought that they were going to die of hunger suddenly found themselves in the midst of inexhaustible abundance. That is how life is, when there is life there is hope. No one knows what can happen in the next twelve or twenty-four hours, your long awaited breakthrough or prosperity can come within few hours. We must approach life like these lepers. Firstly, they refused to give up; secondly, they refused to fold their arms and resign to fate. They knew it is up to them if their stories would change. Thirdly, they took risk. Life itself becomes a risk when we refuse to take risks. Lastly, they refused to be selfish, they decided to tell others. They said, this day is a day of good news. We too must see everyday of our lives as a day of good news. God has given you the privilege to be alive and well so you can share the gospel with someone. We must never be tired of spreading the gospel as long as we are in this world.

Wisdom Nugget: Everyday is a plus with Christ. It is a minus outside Him.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace today to make a mark that cannot be erased in Jesus name.
