THE SPIRIT BEHIND THE WORD – Day 72

Text: EZEKIEL 2:1-10

Memory Verse: And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me (Ezekiel 2:2)

Message: There is a spirit behind every word. The words we hear determine our thinking and our actions. The way we live, our behaviours and attitudes cannot be separated from the word that we hear often. What you hear for a very long time automatically determines your attitudes, behaviours and actions. If you want to change your experience, you have to change the word you are hearing. The reason why words are so powerful is because there are spirits behind those words. Words are powerful but the word of God is much more powerful. The spirit of God is behind the word of God. Ezekiel said that when God spake to him, His spirit entered into him. One of the reason why we have to be very careful about what we hear is because of the spirit behind those words. We must make it our habit to study the word of God daily. As we listen to God’s word or read His word, His spirit comes into us. We cannot receive His word and remain the same. As the spirit entered into Ezekiel, he said the same word set him upon his feet. That means, the word propelled a kind of action in his life. The kind of actions we take or the steps we take in life is usually propelled by the word. You cannot be filled with the word of God and be filled with the spirit of fear at the same time. The word of God fills our hearts with boldness, audacity and unimaginable faith-filled actions.
