THE PROOF OF FAITH – Day 181

Text: HEBREWS 11:1-40

Memory Verse: By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. (Hebrews 11:4)

Message: There are many ways to show or prove that we are actually walking by faith. I made mention of several of them in my book “understanding the mystery of faith.”You cannot have faith and not show it in your attitude or behaviors. You are not showing those things to prove anything to anybody but it comes naturally as you walk by faith. You cannot go around begging people when you really have faith that the Lord shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. From our text today, we read about how Abel demonstrated his faith by giving a more excellent sacrifice to God than Cain, his brother. What we give is not based on what we have alone, more often; it is based on our love for God and our faith more than anything else. Your giving is a proof of your faith. You cannot but give sacrificially and generously if you truly believe that God will give you back in multiple folds. We give sparingly and reluctantly when we are giving as someone losing money or when we do not really believe that God can bless us in return. You are not truly a giver until you give your size. The kingdom of God cannot make meaningful progress or impact here on earth if we all give out of convenience. Without sacrifice, the work will be stagnated.

Wisdom Nugget: When you really make a genuine and acceptable sacrifice, God Himself will bear you a witness.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive grace to give sacrificially for the expansion of your work in Jesus name.
