THANK GOD FOR YOUR DELIVERANCE – Day 38
Text: PSALMS 18:1-50
Memory Verse: It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me. He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name (Psalms 18:47-49)
Message: Anyone who has truly and genuinely given his or her life to Christ is delivered. Colossians 1:12 and 13 says “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”. Note that the word did not say that we shall be delivered but that we are already delivered. We live in a very wicked world. There are many possessed of the devil and the devil uses them to carry out his enterprises on the planet earth. 1 John 5:19 says “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness”. But blessed be God, we are delivered. That is why we must consciously and deliberately give thanks to God because He has delivered us from the powers of the enemies. We are not a bunch of oppressed people looking for deliverance but we are already delivered from the powers of the wicked. God has not only delivered us from the powers of the enemies but He has also delivered us from poverty, from sicknesses and diseases, from death, from accidents, from witches and wizards. Those things have no power over us anymore. That is one of the reasons why we must praise God at all times.
Wisdom Nugget: Until we know what Christ has wrought, we will not be able to thank God enough.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to appreciate all that you have wrought for me in Christ in Jesus name.
