STOP MURMURING – Day 58

Text: 1 CORINTHIANS 10:1-33

Memory Verse: Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer (1 Corinthians 10:10)

Message: Apostle Paul warned the children of God in Corinth by the leading of the Holy Spirit to quit murmuring which is also an aspect of complaining. It is a complaint usually made under your breath, not loud but softly spoken. It is always difficult for those who murmurs to speak clearly. He will not want you to hear but mutters it in such a way that you can deduce that he or she is not totally in agreement or he is displeased about the situation. We can live a life void of murmuring, grumbling and complaining. It will amount to wickedness for Apostle Paul to tell the people not to murmur if he also murmurs as well or if he was not sure that the people of God can be free from it. Just like worries and anxieties, some people erroneously believe that it is part of life; they assumed that they cannot be free from worries. They see it as natural. But our Lord Jesus Christ tells us not to worry or be anxious about anything. The word of God tells us to be anxious for nothing but in everything with prayer and supplication, we should make all our requests known to God. We must do everything to get rid of the habit of murmuring, grumbling and complaining because it has the capacity to destroy its victims. We read of the thousands of people in the wilderness who murmured against God and were destroyed in the wilderness by the destroyer and we need to consistently remember this.

Wisdom Nugget: The devil is the destroyer. Grumbling, murmuring and complaining open doors for him to attack the saints.

Prayer Point: Father, I decree that no wicked one shall be able to touch me. I refuse to open the door for them.
