STOP COMPLAINING – Day 57
Text: NUMBERS 11:1-35
Memory Verse: And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp (Numbers 11:1)
Message: It is not possible to be a committed thanks giver and be a complainer at the same time. We must be very careful about the issue of grumbling and complaining. We will always be tempted to complain, grumble, murmur or call pity party but we can always overcome the temptations if we allow the word of God to fill our hearts and we meditate constantly on the word. Grumbling, murmuring and complaining are signs that we are not walking by faith and we are not living a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving. Those who actually live a life of praise and thanksgiving usually look for something they can praise God or thank Him about. Praising God is not only for what He has done but about extolling the personality and the attributes of God. The people of Israel were experts in complaining, grumbling and murmuring. They complained about everything. They would rather complain than asking or tell their leaders about anything. When they had no food they complained, after God gave them manna to eat they still complained, later they complained about not having flesh to eat. Are we not guilty of the same today? We complain of no rain, we complain that rain is too much. We complain of not having children, we complain that we only have female or male, we complain about having too many children. No matter your situation, stop complaining and start praising God.
Wisdom Nugget: The more we complain, the less we obtain and the worse our situation becomes.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive grace to praise you whenever I am tempted to complain in Jesus name.
