SANCTIFIED BY THE WORD – Day 92

Text: JOHN 17:1-26

Memory Verse: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth (John 17:17)

Message: God wants us to live holy or a sanctified life. It is not enough to be born again. We must make it our goal to live as children of God indeed. To be sanctified means to be made holy or to purify. We live with so many contamination and pollution in the world. We must never allow those negative and vulgar words that we see on the internet or in the commercial vehicles to settle in our spirit. We must watch them off our spirit with the word of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ prayed for His disciples when He was about to leave this world that God should sanctify them through His word because His word is truth. The word of God sanctifies because it does not only contain the truth, it is the truth. We can get rid of every form of pollution and contamination as we expose ourselves to the word of God on a daily basis. Apostle Paul encouraged the “Husband to love their wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word ” ( Ephesians 5:25 & 26). The reason is so He might present the church to Himself a glorious church, without spot, wrinkle or any blemish. Without the word of God, we cannot live a blameless life.

Wisdom Nugget: It takes the virtue of the word to escape the temptations of sin.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive sanctification through your word in Jesus name.
