PRAYING ALWAYS – Day 4

Text: EPHESIANS 6:1-24

Memory Verse: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18)

Message: Just like faith, prayer must never be treated as a spare tyre or something we only resort to or make use of when there is emergency. The word of God says that we ought to pray and not to faint or give up. Our MEMORY today says we must pray always with all prayer and supplication. Prayer is not what we do once in a while or what we fall back on when there is problem or challenge of life. Prayer must become the air we breath; it must become our lifestyle or our way of life. Our text today talks of the ongoing warfare in the realm of the spirit. We are in a battle but not with visible but invisible forces. The enemies are never tired, they are always watching out for our carelessness, prayerlessness and carefree attitudes. The enemies always take advantage of our carelessness. We must be determined to make good use of all the weapons that God has provided for us in His word. Having explained the reality of our spiritual battle, Apostle Paul took time to talk of our spiritual armour or weapons. He encouraged believers to make good use of all the weapons “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). Our loins must be girded with truth, we must put on the breastplate of righteousness, our feet must be ready with preparation of the gospel of peace. A believer that is not involved in soul winning may not enjoy total victory in this kingdom. We must also take the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

Wisdom Nugget: We need all of the armour not just one if total victory is our goal.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to utilize all that you have made available for me in Christ.
