OFFERING WITHOUT BLEMISH – Day 23
Text: LEVITICUS 22:1-33
Memory Verse: And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein. Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD (Leviticus 22:21,22)
Message: There are offerings that are acceptable to God and there are offerings that are not acceptable to Him. You may call it a sacrifice and it may not be acceptable to God. Sacrificial offering is something that you give out of self denial, it is not given conveniently but often it is something that inconveniences you. It is not every giving that God accepts and rewards. From our text today, God instructed His people not to come before Him with offerings that have blemish. He went further by giving some specifications of things they should not even think of giving to God. What makes an offering a sacrifice? When you give it willingly, sincerely, with genuine motives; something that cost you a lot or something that is not very convenient. Whatever is not good enough for you should not be good enough for God. Anything you want to give to God must be the very best. God knows what he has given to us, others may not know but God knows, when you give a sacrifice He knows and He knows when you give casually or reluctantly.
Wisdom Nugget: The quality of what we give to God determines the quality of our reward from Him.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to walk in sincerity with you in Jesus name.
