MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE – Day 71

Text: MATTHEW 4:1-25

Memory Verse: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4)

Message: Bread in our MEMORY today represents food, not just the loaves of bread as we know it today. Without any doubt, we need to eat so we can have physical strength and nourishments. We also need the same for spiritual strength and nourishments but we cannot get that spiritual strength and nourishments from the physical food or bread. That is why God said that, we must not live by bread alone. It is true that we need bread to eat but much more we need the word of God to nourish our spirit-man. God wants us to live by every word that comes out of His mouth. We do not only need some of the words that come out of the mouth of God but all of the word that come out of His mouth. We need the word of God to experience transformation and revolution in our lives. Any child of God that really wants to go far with God must not toy with the word of God. We must get serious with the word of God. We must learn to study the word of God voraciously, memorize it, confess it and teach the same to others. Above all, we must pay attention to what the word of God says by walking in obedience. We must never argue against the word of God. We need to understand that the word of God has the final say over our opinions, traditions and explanations. Until we subscribe to the finality and authority of God’s word, we cannot be all that God has in mind for us.

Wisdom Nugget: Embracing the authority and finality of God’s word is all we need to be all that He wants us to be.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to submit to the authority of your word in Jesus name.
