LABOURING FERVENTLY IN PRAYERS – Day 93
Text: COLOSSIANS 4:1-18
Memory Verse: Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12)
Message: We cannot overemphasize the importance and power of prayers. So much has been said and written on the subject of prayers but the subject cannot be exhausted. One of the greatest assignment or work we can do for the Lord is to subscribe to the ministry of Epaphras who happened to be a faithful associate of Apostle Paul. Epaphras was a man of prayer. He laboured fervently for the converts in Colossae so that they can become mature in Christ. He prayed that they would be perfect and complete in all the will of God. We must learn to approach follow up and even soul winning from that perspective. Without prayers we can not get much out of our soul-winning efforts. Neither can we follow up new converts effectively without serious, constant and consistent prayers. Epaphras realized that the race is not for the swift and the battle is not for the strong. He realized that by strength alone, no one shall prevail. Why do many converts easily turn back in our days? Why are many people coming to the church and not many of them stay and get committed and dedicated? It is because we are not praying as we should for the new converts, the devil will not want them to stay so we have to engage in serious prayers on their behalf. Our prayer focus must not be carnal or be about material things, it must be about their spiritual maturity.
Wisdom Nugget: Nothing good happens by accident, we can only make good things happen through prayers.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to pray intensely and extensively in Jesus name.
