KILLING A GOLIATH – Day 29

Text: 1 SAMUEL 17:1-58

Memory Verse: Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God(1 Samuel 17:36)

Message: We need people like David in this generation; people who are ready to fight the Goliath confronting us in our generation. It is true that David killed Goliath but we read later that Goliath had four brothers. The truth of the matter is that we still have Goliath-like problems in our communities and churches today. Our nation is plagued with the Goliath-like problems such as poverty, insecurity, scarcity and what have you. Whatever the enemy is using to molest us, disgrace or hinder us is a Goliath that must be confronted by some people. Anything that wants to stop us is a Goliath. Anything causing reproach, shame or disgrace is nothing but a Goliath that must be dealt with squarely. Just like David volunteered to confront Goliath, you too can rise up to the challenges of our days in the nation, in your community or even the church of God. As a child of God, the spirit of God is in you, we are destined to be giant killers. We are unstoppable and unmolestable. We are the ones set aside by God to destroy the powers of the wicked. We are giant killers, we are problem solvers, we are not in the world as part of the problems but we are the solutions. Always look for a problem that you can solve, even in the church and watch God use you beyond your wildest imagination.

Wisdom Nugget: Stop complaining about the problems and start providing the solutions.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to be a problem solver even in the church and in my Nation in Jesus name.
