IF IT HAD NOT BEEN THE LORD – Day 63

Text: PSALMS 124:1-8

Memory Verse: If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say (Psalms 124:1)

Message: Our minds cannot fathom what would have happened or what could have happened to us if not for the intervention of God in our lives last year. We went through thick and thin, there were storms and great whirlwind, many water had passed under the bridge. There were mountains, difficulties and challenges but in all of these we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us. Without any doubt, the enemies never knew that we could sail through; the enemies thought that they had even overcome us but to their greatest surprise, God turned the table against them and gave us victory. Not because of prayers, service, dedication or giving, thank God for all those wonderful things, but permit me to say that those things were not the reason why God saved us or gave us the victory. He actually did all that because of His grace and mercies. The word of God tells us that it is of His mercies that we are not consumed because His compassion fails not and His mercies endure forever. We would have been consumed by the enemies if not for God. Verses 2, 3 and 4 say “If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us; then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul”

Wisdom Nugget: Without God’s intervention, it is not possible to overcome satan’s manipulation.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to remain grateful to you at all times.
