HONOURING YOUR SPOUSE – Day 127

Text: 1 PETER 3:1-22

Memory Verse: Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered (1 Peter 3:7)

Message: Join me to celebrate my wonderful, beautiful, loving wife as we mark our wedding anniversary today. We just clocked twenty six years of blissful marriage today. Wow! How time flies on the wings of hours, minutes and seconds. I took my loving sweetheart to the altar exactly twenty six years ago. It has been very glorious and wonderful and we give God all the glory. It has not been by our power or wisdom. It is the wisdom of God and the grace of God. One of the things God has taught us in our relationship is the subject of honour. There is no way any marriage can work when there is no honour. Until we understand the subject of honour, we are not ready to make our marriage work. The truth is that marriage does not work automatically, we must accept the responsibility to honour our spouse. Honour simply means respect or giving due regard to or to treat someone as important. Those who truly honour their spouse usually show it in the way they talk to their spouse and how they even talk about their spouse, they honour the family members and friends of their spouse. They take good care of their spouse and they are ever ready to obey their spouse. What God expects of men is due regard and love for their wives. He also expects women to have absolute respect for their husbands and their in-laws.

Wisdom Nugget: Honour is all about respect. The more you honour your spouse the better your marriage becomes.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to honour you and to honour my spouse like never before in Jesus name.
