HE IS RISEN AS HE SAID – Day 148

Text: MATTHEW 28:1-20

Memory Verse: He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay (Matthew 28:6)

Message: The death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Christ attest to the integrity of the word of God. Other things may fail but God’s word can never fail. It may be too ridiculous to be believed, probably it has never happened before, that does not mean it cannot happen as long as it comes from the mouth of God. He is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent. We can always bank on His word no matter the situation. After Jesus was buried, some devoted women went very early on Sunday morning to go and anoint Him in the tomb but they saw an angel which told them “He is no more here, He is risen as He said”. I pray for you as well that people will no longer find you where they used to find you in the lowly places of life. God will take you higher than your wildest imagination. Our Lord Jesus Christ arose as He said, so He will do to us and for us as He has said. We also read that some people were bribed to report that Jesus never rose up from the grave and they did a great job for the money they received. Up till today, there are people who choose to believe the report of the enemies of the cross. That is why we must hearken to the commandments of our Master to go all over the world and preach the gospel. We must never allow the people that were bribed to be more faithful than us.

Wisdom Nugget: Thinking of what Christ has done for us without thinking of what to do for Him is to live as an ingrate.

Prayer Point: Father, empower me to do more for you in Jesus name.
