GREAT VALUE FOR THE WORD – Day 69

Text: JOB 23:1-17

Memory Verse: Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food (Job 23:12)

Message: In the things of the spirit, it is the value you place on a thing that determines the virtues that flows to you. A man of God can be a tremendous blessing to one and not be so much to another, the difference is in the value they place on the man of God. Elisha received the double portion of Elijah’s spirit, not because he was the only son of the prophet but he placed a greater value on Elijah his master. The value we place on the word of God also determines the virtues that flows to us from the word of God. There is no doubt that the word of God is powerful, I must confess that God’s word is extremely powerful. But the virtue of the word of God may not necessarily flow to everyone; it only flows to those who value it. Job said he esteemed the word of God higher than his normal or regular food. The virtue of the word can turn poverty into prosperity. It can turn barrenness to fruitfulness, failure into success, that virtue can bring supernatural turnaround to any life. That is why we all need to develop insatiable hunger for God. We must develop an uncontrollable appetite and thirst for the word of God. Our appetite or value for the word will determine how eager and regular we want to attend church services. Those who sincerely value God’s word will study it at home and rush to church anytime the doors are opened.

Wisdom Nugget: It is value that determines virtues.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to place the right value on your word in Jesus name.
