FOOLISHNESS KILLS – Day 212

Text: ECCLESIASTES 7:1-29

Memory Verse: Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? (Ecclesiastes 7:17)

Message: Our memory verse today identified two major reasons why people die before their time. One is wickedness and two foolishness. Those who are wicked will eventually kill themselves by their wickedness. We have heard of people who plotted evil against others or dug pit for others and they fell into the same pit by themselves, that is to say that their wickedness killed them. 
God also made us to realize that we can live longer with wisdom but we can cut our lives short by foolishness. There are many things that we do in the name of God, or in the name of christianity that are nothing but mere display of foolishness which in most cases make people to die before their time. Imagine someone who is sick and has no faith to be healed yet rejecting medication or injection. Sometimes people do that because of fear but they we still call it faith. That person can die like that because of his or her foolishness. 
A man is foolish when he lacks the wisdom of God. Often we think we are walking by faith especially when we live without plans, goals, savings and preparations. It is nothing but foolishness to live without plans and adequate preparations. Foolishness is living contrary to the word of God. When we work and work without resting, it is nothing but foolishness. Even the Almighty God rested after working for six days.

Wisdom Nugget: More people have died because of foolishness and wickedness than in any war or battle.

Prayer Point: Father, I decree I will not walk in foolishness because your wisdom is at work in me in Jesus name.
