DOUBLE HONOUR – Day 171

Text: 1 TIMOTHY 5:1-25

Memory Verse: Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine (1 Timothy 5:17)

Message: God wants us to honour Him as well as honour everyone around us especially our man of God. We live in the days where people have great delights in lambasting or insulting men and women of God. Some cannot rest or sleep until they have criticized a man or woman of God with their tongues. This is because many are ignorant of God’s word. The truth is that whatever we do for or against the man of God, we are doing it indirectly for or against the God that sent or called him to the work. It is not in our power to decide or judge or determine if a man is called or sent by God or not. By their fruits you shall know them. We are commanded by the word of God not only to honour our men and women of God, pastors or teachers of the word but to give them double honour because they deserve it. We have an obligation to show to our man of God that we truly honour him. Our love and respect for our man of God must not only be in words but indeed and actions. To honour someone means to respect him, to hold him dearly, to hold him in high reputation and regard. Today is my birthday and I want to deeply appreciate the honour, the gifts and the phone calls. May the Lord honour you and lift you up supernaturally. Beloved, honour is not just in our words, it is also in what we do. Honour is in the way we relate with the one we honour, the way we talk about them and what we are willing to do for them or give to them.

Wisdom Nugget: Your pastor deserves more than your honour, God said he deserves double honour.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to honour my pastor beyond words in Jesus name.
