DEFRAUD NOT – Day 197

Text: MARK 10:1-52

Memory Verse: Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. (Mark 10:19)

Message: The only way to please God is to love all that He loves and hate whatever He hates. As we heed God’s instructions, we cannot but become God’s favourites. Our Lord Jesus Christ reminded the rich young ruler of some of God’s commandments, and the need for Him to follow them very closely. Surprisingly the rich young ruler “said unto Him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth” (Mark 10:20). That tells us that His commandments are practicable, it is not impossible to do what God says. We can say NO to sin, to lying, to sexual immorality and most importantly to fraudulent practices. We must choose to maintain integrity, honesty and good character at all times. God will not ask us to do the impossible; whatever God commands us to do can be done because He equips us before commanding us. It is very disheartening to know that there are some fraudulent people in the church of God today. Some of them only claim to be children of God but they are not, they are just in the church to look for who to cheat, rob or dupe because they are fraudsters. Apostle Paul admonished the saints in Thessalonica thus; “That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.” (1 Thessalonians 4:6). You cannot live by fraud and escape the judgment of God.

Wisdom Nugget: Destiny is lost when character and integrity are lost.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to maintain a godly character regardless of all I’m passing through in life in Jesus name.
