BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING – Day 168

Text: GENESIS 12: 1-20

Memory Verse: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:3)

Message: Until we begin to seek God and His blessing for the right motives, God cannot delight in our blessing. The reason why God blesses His people is so they can be a great blessing to others. Life is not about what we are able to accumulate but what we are able to distribute. Wherever we go, we are always surrounded with people that need our help and care. It is not enough to be blessed; we must desire to be a tremendous blessing to our family members, to the church, to our community and to the nation and even the world at large. We must develop an unusual giving spirit. It is surprising and almost embarrassing today for the kind of arguments and debates that go on especially on the internet on the issue of tithing in the church. Those who truly know God and know the purpose of His blessing will not limit themselves to tithing alone but they will gladly and joyfully give generously to God even beyond the tithes. The world is gradually overtaken by greedy and covetous people who feel that their target is the church. The devil is raising so many against the church so as to limit what the church can do to be a blessing to our world. Without any doubt, the church is doing so much to affect people positively all over the world. Everyone must choose to be a blessing. No matter how poor or disadvantaged you may be, you can still be a blessing to someone else.

Wisdom Nugget: If you are still struggling with tithing, you have no idea of what it means to be blessed and be a blessing.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to worship you with a heart of sacrifice for your kingdom in Jesus name.
