AS THE FATHER HATH SENT HIM – Day 162

Text: JOHN 20:1-31

Memory Verse: Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. (John 20:21)

Message: After the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, He appeared to His disciples in so many ways and places. The Jesus we saw after the resurrection was different from the incarnate Jesus or Jesus before the resurrection. It was after that resurrection He declared that all the powers in heaven and on earth have been given unto Him. In verse 19 of our text today, we were told that the door was shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus entered that place through the wall, He could not do that before the resurrection. He showed them His hands and His side where He was nailed so they could believe Him. He then told them “Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you”. The Father sent Him so that He can save the people from sin. He went about doing good, healing them that were oppressed by the devil because God was with Him.The same way we must become dogged and passionate about the salvation of the lost and the welfare of the suffering masses. We too must go about doing good. We must deliver the oppressed and set the captives free. Our Lord Jesus was sent by the Father and He in turn has sent us just exactly the way the Father sent Him. He had no reason to beg for anything but He had more than enough, He fed the people physically and spiritually. We shall not lack resources to do His work in our generation in Jesus name.

Wisdom Nugget: We are not here by accident, we are on a divine errand for God, we are sent.

Prayer Point: Father, whatever I need, whatever is required to do the assignment you have given me effectively, I receive them in abundance in Jesus name.
