YOUR PRAYER DETERMINES YOUR JOY – Day 143

Text: JOHN 16:1-33

Memory Verse: Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:24)

Message: Without any iota of doubt and without any contradiction, we can say that God’s will for our lives is the fullness of joy. God is our father and He cannot be happy when we are sad and sorrowful. His joy releases unusual strength into our system. Our Lord Jesus Christ took time to instruct His disciples on what they need to do to maintain their joy and to also experience the fullness of joy. We have examined what He said about His word and we have discovered that anyone who really wants to experience the fullness of joy must pay attention to the word of God. From our text today, we also saw another approach of our Lord Jesus Christ to this same subject of experiencing the fullness of joy. He said we should ask until our joy becomes full. That is to say that without answers to our prayers our joy cannot be full, but the fact is that we need to pray before we can experience answers to our prayers. The greatest obstacle or hindrance to prayers is un-offered prayers. It is possible to preach so much about prayers and talk so much about our prayerlessness and know so much about the dangers of prayerlessness and still not pay attention to prayer itself. There is no doubt whatsoever that prayer is very powerful but there is no way to maximize its power when we refuse to pray. We always sing that prayer is the key or the master key and that is scripturally correct. It is also the master key to our joy or fullness of joy.

Wisdom Nugget: Without a prayerful life, we cannot live a joyful and a praiseful life.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to pray in Jesus name.
