THE HARVEST IS PLENTEOUS – Day 122

Text: MATTHEW 9:1-38

Memory Verse: Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37)

Message: Often when I see multitudes of people, be it in the market or they are coming out of stadium or waiting for buses at bus-stop, the first thing that comes to my mind is how many of this great multitudes are saved and how can we get the word of God across to them. We have a great responsibility to reach our world with the message of Christ. The world population is increasing at an alarming rate, particularly the rate of men and women that are not yet reached with the gospel. Even in places that are usually considered as “reached”there are several men and women who are yet to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. There are still places in our world today where the gospel of Christ is not allowed in any way or form. The emergence of all manners of religion across the globe, persecutions, scarcity of missionaries have all constituted hindrances to the spread of the gospel. Our Lord Jesus Christ admonished us to approach this responsibility first in prayers. That is why he said; “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38). We need to really pray that God will send labourers into His harvest and we too must be willing to get involved with our time and resources. Today, not many people are concerned about reaching out to sinners, we have little or lesser crusades in our days, not many are even ready to open their mouth and share the gospel with others.

Wisdom Nugget: The greatest threat to the gospel in these last days is civilization.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to maintain the fire of soul-winning in these last days in Jesus name.
