LIVING FOR THE ONE THAT DIED FOR US – Day 120
Text: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:1-21
Memory Verse: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 CORINTHIANS 5:15)
Message: Jesus died so we can be saved and He saved us so we can live absolutely for Him and not live for ourselves. What does that mean? It simply means that we are not in this world to fulfill our own purpose but to discover and to fulfill the purpose of God for our lives. There are some today who only live for themselves alone even though, they are children of God. They only do what they want to do, not what God wants them to do. They see their time as their own time and not God’s time. Their money is actually meant for them only; they do not see it as God’s money. But that is contrary to the word of God. We are to see our hands, legs and body as God’s own. Our body belongs to God, our time belongs to Him, even our money belongs to Him, that is the way God wants us to live our lives. I once heard Brother Gbile Akanni, a great man of God preached on that some years ago, he said that God asked him why he didn’t bother to ask Him whether he should buy a particular item or not. He actually wanted to buy a cassette player to listen to messages, so he was surprised that God wanted him to ask before buying it, since it was his money. But the truth is that our time and money belong to God and we must live our lives absolutely for Him.
Wisdom Nugget: If our money belongs to God. He must have the final say over it and we need to release it whenever He is in need of it.
Prayer Point: Father, help me to serve you faithfully with all you have given me in Jesus name.
