PREACH THE WORD – Day 115

Text: 2 TIMOTHY 4:1-22

Memory Verse: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine (2 Timothy 4:2)

Message: There is no way souls can be saved or won to Christ without the word of God being preached to them. The word of God is like the hammer that breaks every stubbornness in the hearts of men to pieces. There is no way people can be saved if we refuse to preach to them. The word of God says, how can they hear without a preacher and how can there be preachers except they are sent. God has already sent us and we must stop giving excuses, we need to rise up and work. We must get ready to preach in season and out of season. That means that we should be ready to preach Christ to people around us at all times whether it is convenient to do so or not. We must not be controlled by the circumstances around us, we must not be controlled by convenience or comfort. Sometimes it may not be convenient or comfortable for us but we need to keep sharing the gospel whether it is convenient or not. We were also admonished to reprove, rebuke and exhort with all perseverance. We are not only to exhort people or encourage them, of course there is room for that as well, but sometimes we need to reprove and rebuke people as well as correct them with the word of God.

Wisdom Nugget: God has not given us His word to pacify but to correct and remold us.

Prayer Point: Father, use me to affect many lives positively for you in Jesus name.
