NECESSITY IS LAID UPON ME – Day 111
Text: 1 CORINTHIANS 9:1-27
Memory Verse: For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel (1Corinthians 9:16)
Message: There are some children of God who will give excuses for everything they ought to do. Some will tell you they are not gifted while some others can even say that it is not their calling. But the issue of soul-winning and evangelism must not be seen that way. It is actually the calling of every child of God, it is the ministry of every believer in Christ. It is not a gift, it is a necessity that God has placed on our shoulder if we must live a life that is pleasing unto Him. According to Peter Wagner, the professor of church growth, who had gone to be with the Lord. He said, there are some things we are called to do, some things we are gifted for, some we have a responsibility for it. As far as evangelism is concerned, we are called to do it, we are even gifted with so many gifts that will enable us to do it and above all, we have an awesome responsibility to win souls and deliver people from the danger of hell fire. We must rescue those who are perishing and care for dying souls around us. There are thousands dying daily without knowing where they will spend eternity. We are not doing well if we keep quiet and we are going ups and downs looking for money like the unbelievers around us. When we focus on winning souls to God, He will ensure that our lives and businesses flourish without sweat.
Wisdom Nugget: As believers in Christ, we are not in this world for things. We are in this world to make a difference.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to live for you and you alone in Jesus name.
