OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS – Day 109

Text: LUKE 2:1-52

Memory Verse: And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? (Luke 2:49)

Message: Nothing could distract or dissuade the attention of our Lord Jesus Christ from the business of His father. He had a genuine understanding that He was not an accident on the planet earth neither was He a creation of chance. He had a thorough understanding of the fact that He was sent here on earth to draw people back to God. When His earthly mother, Mary and other relatives were looking for Him, He was busy with the Pharisees and Sadducees in the synagogue as a little boy and when they expressed the trouble they had been through as they were looking for Him, He made them realized that He must be about His Father’s business. Just like Jesus, we need to understand that we are on a divine mission, we are here on errand for God. We are not here by ourselves or for ourselves. We are in this world for a purpose and we must focus absolutely on that purpose without any distraction. There are many things and people that will seek to distract our attention but we must do everything to remain focused and passionate about our assignment. We must never allow the desire for the things of this world to hinder us from doing that which God sent us into this world. Our general assignment as believers is to go out where the sinners are. We need to preach to them and bring them back to God. No child of God can live a life of fulfillment without winning souls to God.

Wisdom Nugget: No believer can have a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment without winning souls to God.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to be all that you want me to be in Jesus name.
