UNDERSTANDING THE TRUE LOVE – Day 106
Text: ROMANS 5:1-21
Memory Verse: For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:7,8)
Message: Today, people celebrate love worldwide . Although the celebration of valentine’s day may not necessarily have root in Christianity but only the church of God or children of God truly understand what love is all about. Most of the love we hear of in the world today are based on selfishness, immorality, sexual passion or using another person to gratify our emotional desires or passion. No one can truly understand love without receiving the love of God into his or her heart. We can only walk in true love when we have truly encountered Christ who is love personified. The word love in the Bible has about four roots or meaning in the Greek language. The only one that is unparalleled and unconditional is called “Agape” which is the God-kind of love that He wants us to exhibit as His children. God loved us when we were unlovable. He sent His only son to suffer and even die for our sins. He paid the price for all our iniquities. Christ died for us when we were still in our sins. God’s love is not a about trying to reciprocate people’s kind gestures but going the extra mile to show love to people who do not really deserve it. God’s love forgives, God’s love tells the truth in love. Love is not a about sexual immorality or living in sin. Those who truly love you will not encourage you to disobey God, rather they will encourage you to walk in obedience.
Wisdom Nugget: Anyone asking you for premarital sex is not saying “I love you” but “I love it” He will do it with others as well.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to say “No” to sin in Jesus name.
