ARE YOU A DISCIPLE INDEED? – Day 88

Text: JOHN 8:1-59

Memory Verse: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31,32 )

Message: Are you a disciple of Christ? Do you see yourself as a disciple indeed? What does it really mean to be a disciple? A disciple of Christ is actually a follower of Christ, or someone who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. That is not all, a disciple is someone who have purposed to follow the teachings and the footsteps or lifestyle of Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ once said that it is not everyone who calls Him Lord that will enter the kingdom of God, but only those who do the will of the father. As far as our Lord Jesus Christ was concerned, you are not a disciple indeed if you do not continue in His words. He told the Jews that believed that, they can only become disciples indeed when they continue in His words. It is not enough to start with His word, we must also make up our minds to continue in the word. God wants us to live a life of absolute, total freedom but that can only be possible when we are committed to knowing the truth and walk in the truth. It is only the truth of the word of God that can set us free from every bondage and tradition.

Wisdom Nugget: You are not Christ’s disciple until His words find expression in your life.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to be a disciple of Christ indeed in Jesus name.
