THERE IS LIFE IN THE WORD – Day 87

Text: JOHN 6:1-71

Memory Verse: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life ( John 6:63 )

Message: The spirit of God makes alive, that is the meaning of the word quickeneth. Without salvation our spirit is dead unto God but we receive the life of God into our spirit when we give our lives to Christ. It is spirit that quickeneth or makes alive but the flesh profits nothing. That is why we must do everything to develop our spirit and we must train our spirit so much that the flesh will not have power to subdue it but vice versa. We must develop our spirit man so it can gain dominion over the flesh. To develop our spirit man, we must nourish our spirit with the right food and that is the word of God. Jesus said that the words He speaks are spirit and life-given words. When we spend quality time to fellowship with God’s word, we are receiving the spirit of God and the life of God into our spirit. There is no way to grow up spiritually or become spiritually mature without the word. No vehicle or let me say no driver can be too busy as not to have time to buy gas in the filling station, he knows that the journey will be stuck without gas in the vehicle. You cannot be too busy as not to have time allotted to refuel your spirit man with God’s word.

Wisdom Nugget: Those who are too busy to study the word will always be stranded in their business.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive life in your word today in Jesus name.
