DO NOT DESPISE HIS WORD – Day 84

Text: PROVERBS 13:1-25

Memory Verse: Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded ( Proverbs 13:13 )

Message: The thought of God over all His children are good thought not thoughts of evil. God wants the best for us because we are His children and we are His handworks. God has given us His word so we can use it to de-programme ourselves and reprogramme the right stuff into our systems. We all have a duty to respond positively to the word of God by walking in obedience. We must learn to value the word of God. We must learn to honour God by obeying His precious word. Nothing brings destruction, misfortune, tragedies and calamities to people’s lives like undue regard or lack of proper regard for His word. The word of God must occupy the first place in our hearts. It must be our number one priority. We must never talk or act in a way that depicts little or no regard for the word of God. It is not enough to read the Bible or come to the church and listen to messages or buy CDs and listen to them at home. All of these are very important and very essential, but the most important issue is that we must pay close attention to the word and be the doer of the word. We must take actions that show that we actually believe in the word and respect the God that gave us His word.

Wisdom Nugget: The virtue we place on the word, determines the virtues that flow to us from the word.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace never to despise your word in Jesus name.
