BEWARE OF ADAMANT HEART – Day 83

Text: ZECHARIAH 7:1-14

Memory Verse: But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts ( Zechariah 7:11,12 )

Message: God has given us His word so we can read and be transformed. The essence of the messages God is sending our ways is to produce changes in our lives. God has given us His word not just to challenge us but to change us. It is not just to inform us but to transform us. The word of God is not a mere suggestion from God. It is actually a command from God. We must always be eager and excited to study the word and do our very best to follow the instructions of the word. The word of God was not given to us just to add to our knowledge but to turn us to another person. The people we read about today became proud and arrogant; they raised their shoulders against God. They come to church but their handsets, internet, facebook, e-mails and Instagram will not allow them to pay attention to the word of God. They have time to chat with their friends but no time to study the word of God. Even when they hear the word of God, they made their heart to be adamant like stone. That means they are not ready to change. They only listen to the word and read the word for formality and to just satisfy their conscience. They are simply listeners but not doers of the word.

Wisdom Nugget: God gave us His word not just to challenge us but to change us, not just to inform us but to transform us.
