THE MILK OF THE WORD – Day 70

Text: 1 PETER 2:1-25

Memory Verse: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby (1 Peter 2:2)

Message: I once heard one of my mentors said what we do not desire, we do not deserve. That means that our desires birth what we actually experience in life. Everyone has a desire. Some really believe that everything will be alright with them if only they have enough money. They have inordinate desires for money and they do anything to get money but that is contrary to God’s word. Many have found out after their unholy desires for money and ungodly pursuit of wealth that money does not actually satisfy. God said we should desire the sincere milk of God’s word so we can grow thereby. We must develop a keen interest for the word of God because that is what we need to grow up spiritually. Our spiritual life determines what happens to us in other areas of life. The word of God is the food for our spirit man. It is not enough to be saved; we must be willing to grow up spiritually. That is why we must have copies of the Bible. It is good to have the Bible on our phones or handset, our ipads, tablets e.t.c. We can also get the hard copy as well. Get as many translations as possible to help your understanding of the Bible. One of the things that takes place when you are growing up spiritually is that it helps you develop unusual concern for the lost, you want to reach out to the lost sinners around you. Your growth changes your perspectives and helps you to be a great blessing to your world.

Wisdom Nugget: Real spiritual growth must culminate in visible and noticeable changes.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to grow up spiritually this year. I receive grace to become a changed person in Jesus name.
