ENJOY HIS WORD – Day 67
Text: JEREMIAH 15:1-21
Memory Verse: Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts (Jeremiah 15:16)
Message: What we do with God’s word determines everything about our lives. Until you give the word of God its place in your heart, you may never find your own place on the earth. The word of God is our spiritual food and we must increase our appetite for the word so we can be well nourished and receive all that God has in mind for us through His word. No believer can live right or experience the true victory that comes from God without a proper relationship with the word of God. There are many things we can do with the word of God. We can read the word, we can study it, we can memorize it, we can confess it with our mouth in our daily confessions, we can even preach the word of God to others. But Jeremiah revealed to us that he ate the word. He saw the word of God as food that nourishes. He said that word became the joy and the rejoicing of his heart. Beloved, you cannot have the joy of the lord in your heart, the way you should if you starve your heart with the word of God. We need to feed fat on the word of God so as to maintain our Joy in the Lord. Just like children who refuse to take balanced diet usually suffer from malnourishment and plagued with diseases like kwashiorkor, so also a believer who does not feed on the word of God is bound to experience deformities in his spiritual life.
Wisdom Nugget: The Bible is the spiritual food for the total man.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive uncontrollable appetite and insatiable hunger for your word in Jesus name.
