IN THE BEGINNING – Day 64

Text: GENESIS 1:1-31

Memory Verse: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1)

Message: Our God created all things, He knew the beginning of all things but He Himself has no beginning. What we do at the beginning of the year or the beginning of a venture matters a lot, that can also determine what will become of such ventures or year. That of course determines what we can get out of such ventures. At the beginning of creation, certainly not the beginning of God, we learnt that God created the heaven and the earth. But the earth was “Without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep”. No one could have imagined that the creation of the Almighty God could be characterized with such negative manifestations. Some Theologians believed that the creation must have been tampered with by some unseen forces. Amazingly, God did not cry, weep, mourn or pity Himself or even blame anyone for the situation but He decided to correct them. We read that the “Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”but that did not change the situation. Thank God for the presence of the spirit of God in your life but you must learn to do exactly what God did at creation if we must have a change of story. God decided to make things right by using His words. “And God said, let there be light, and there was light”. God created all that He needed to create by the use of His words. We too must learn to create what we want to see in our lives this year by making proper use of our tongue. There is no creation without speaking.

Wisdom Nugget: Everytime we speak, we are creating something. There is creativity in our tongue.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to say the right words at all times in Jesus name.
