THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE – Day 51

Text: HEBREWS 13:1-25

Memory Verse: By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name (Hebrews 13:15)

Message: So many believers detest that word “Sacrifice”, they do not want to hear it at all. We live in the days where Christianity has become a matter of convenience. Some people just want to do what they like or do things at their own convenience. But that is absolutely unacceptable with God. He is either Lord of all or not Lord at all. We must be willing to joyfully and gladly worship our maker with all kinds of sacrifice. Be it sacrifice of time, sacrifice of talents, sacrifice of giving or sacrifice of our strength. More importantly, we must be willing to give God a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Sometimes, it can be really absurd to praise God. Sometimes it may not be convenient to praise God nor give Him thanks because there is nothing on the surface that shows the need for it, or warrants it. But rather there may even be myriads of reasons all around you to complain, grumble, murmur and call pity party and people will quite understand because of what you are going through. But as far as God is concerned, there is no genuine reason why we should allow depression to have a better part of us. Many are insane today because of depression, sorrow of heart or other similar reasons. You see some people talking alone on the road because of depression, it is depression that leads to suicidal thoughts and makes people see life as worthless. But we can choose to worship and praise God at all times.

Wisdom Nugget: What you are going through may not warrant your praise but the word of God and faith warrant it.

Prayer Point: Father, I reject and refuse sorrow, sadness and depression in my life in Jesus name.
