CHOSEN TO PRAISE HIM – Day 50

Text: 1 PETER 2:1-25

Memory Verse: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9)

Message: Nothing helps us to maximize our lives here on earth like the understanding of who we are, what we have, where we are or where we are seated in Christ. We are not ordinary people. We are a chosen generation. We were chosen by God, called by God and ordained by Him. We have the blood of royalty flowing through our veins. We are royalty combined with priesthood. In the Old Testament you are either a king or a priest, you cannot be in the two offices together. Only very few people ever become a king or a priest in their lifetime, may be about one or two percent of the society. But in the kingdom of God we are all priests and kings at the same time. The Book of Revelations 1:6 says about our Lord Jesus Christ “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever, Amen (see also Revelations 5:9,10). Our Lord Jesus Christ shed His own blood on the Cross of Calvary so as to make us priests and kings on the earth. That is why Romans 5:17 tells us that those who have received the abundance of grace and of the gifts of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. We are not in this world to be oppressed or to be treated as underdogs, we are here to reign. God chose us so we can shew forth the praises of Him.

Wisdom Nugget: He created us in a unique way so our praises can be unique.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to praise you in a unique way with my life and all that you have given me.
