THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM – Day 43

Text: MATTHEW 16:1-28

Memory Verse: And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19)

Message: Every child of God has been delivered from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God. We are not only saved, we were translated to the new kingdom, the kingdom of God, the moment we got born again. In this new kingdom, there are keys that operate, those keys enable us to bind and loose. Whatever we bind here on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we lose here on earth must be loosed in heaven. But we must always realize that the Bible was not talking of just one key but keys in the plural. So many people believe that the issue of binding and loosing or worse-still the keys that Jesus talked about in our text today was only about prayers but that is not true. Certainly, prayer is one of the keys of the kingdom, but the earlier we realized that prayer is not the only key the better our lives become. Just as prayer is one of the keys, we need to know that praise and thanksgiving is one of the keys of the kingdom. There are several other keys that help you to bind and loose in the kingdom. We must not just live our lives as specialists in the area of prayers, but we must also cultivate the habit of praising God, giving thanks and maintaining our joy in the Lord. We must also ensure that, we walk in obedience, honour God with our tithes and learn to give to Him sacrificially and faithfully.

Wisdom Nugget: A life of gratitude entails the totality of God’s word. Our praise is unacceptable without obedience.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to operate all the keys of the kingdom in Jesus name
