FORGET NOT HIS BENEFITS – Day 36
Text: PSALMS 103:1-22
Memory Verse: Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits (Psalms 103:1,2)
Message: Showing gratitude to God must involve all that God has deposited in us. No wonder David said “All that is within me, bless his holy name”. We must learn to praise and thank God with all that is in us. That involves all that we have or possessed; all the organs of our bodies and all that God has endowed us with. Only those who are forgetful turns out to be an ingrate. The reason for every form of ingratitude is forgetfulness. Those who easily forget the kind gestures of others will always find it difficult to show gratitude. Many easily forget the good deeds of others, they only remember the evil that others have done against them. There are people who will forget the numerous kindness of others or even that of the church but will always remember one negative deed forever. That is why, David communed with his soul and commanded it to bless the Lord and not forget His benefits. Without any gain saying, God has done so much for us and we need to be grateful enough to count His blessings and name them one by one. That was exactly what David did in our text today. We cannot thank God enough for the salvation of our soul; the privilege of knowing God, His word that is revealed to us and His light that has shined on our path.
Wisdom Nugget: Every ingratitude is rooted in pride and forgetfulness.
Prayer Point: Father, help me to remember always the kindness that you have shown me and the ones you have caused many to show me in Jesus name.
