GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER – Day 27
Text: 2 CORINTHIANS 9:1-15
Memory Verse: Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Message: It is not enough to give, how we give is very important as well. The motives behind our giving are also critically important. There are people who only give to God when they are promised of harvest within twenty-four hours. Yet there are some who may never give anything reasonable except others will know or if they will talk about it. Any giving we do with a show off or bragging does not attract anything from God. As a matter of fact, God wants us to give without expecting anything in return. It is God’s will, that we His children should use His resources for the furtherance of the Gospel and the expansion of His kingdom here on earth. That is the reason for His blessing upon our lives. The word of God says, that God cannot be mocked because whatever a man sows will determine what he reaps. There is no doubt to the fact that God blesses us back when we give but that should not be our motivation for giving. We must also give as we have purposed. We must not wait for anyone to compel or force us to give, we must learn to give joyfully, willingly, not grudgingly. More importantly we must learn to give cheerfully. Your countenance can determine whether God will accept your offering or not.
Wisdom Nugget: Grumbling, murmuring, complaining, boasting and bragging corrupt our seed.
Prayer Point: Father,I receive the grace to give generously, cheerfully and with a deep sense of gratitude in Jesus name.
