FORSAKE NOT YOUR MAN OF GOD – Day 24

Text: DEUTERONOMY 12:1-32

Memory Verse: Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth (Deuteronomy 12:19)

Message: The Levites were the people from the tribe of Levi. They were set aside by God as ministers unto Him. Today we use that word to describe men and women of God who are called to minister to God’s people. As children of God we have great responsibilities toward our men and women of God who are feeding us with the word of life. No man of God is supposed to beg or ask for offering from people. Anyone who does that must be a very hungry pastor serving his own belly. Anyone who is faithfully working for God must surely be taken care of by Him. That however, does not mean that we should abandon or forsake our true men of God that are teaching us the way of the Lord. 1 Timothy 5:18 says; “For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, the labourer is worthy of his reward”. There are people who will never think of blessing their men or women of God with anything. Such people specialise in criticising and judging men of God. The question is, what have you done for your man of God to show that you really honour him? What kind of seed do you sow to your man of God? Think of how you can be a blessing to your pastor and go the extra mile to make him or her comfortable. That is the counsel of God as taught in His word.

Wisdom Nugget: One instruction of God’s word that we despise is enough to keep us away from the fullness of His blessing.

Prayer Point: Father, help me to obey you totally. Help me to be a blessing to my Pastor in Jesus name.
