THE LOVE OF CHRIST CONSTRAINETH US – Day 17
Text: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:1-21
Memory Verse: For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:14,15)
Message: No sacrifice is too big and nothing is too much to give away or give up when we truly allow the love of God to saturate our hearts. Most of the excuses and complaints we give in the kingdom of God is centered on our unseriousness or lack of true love for God. Those who truly love God will hardly complain or give excuses. Christianity is not about convenience but sacrifice. I usually tell people that there could be nothing like Christianity and it will be practically impossible for anyone to be saved if not that our Lord Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for us on the Cross of Calvary over two thousand years ago. It was not very convenient for Him to die on the Cross, He even prayed that the cup be taken away but because of the salvation of our soul, He chose the way of the cross and said “Not my will but your will be done”. It is absolutely impossible to do the will of God and live for the Lord without the willingness to make sacrifice. It was the love that Christ had for us that constrained Him to endure the cross, it was not a palatable experience. We too must always allow the love of Christ to compel or constrain us to help others, forgive others, give sacrificially for God’s work and live totally for Him.
Wisdom Nugget: No greatness without sacrifice. Nothing reveals our maturity like sacrifice.
Prayer Point: Father, help me to live absolutely for you in Jesus name.
