FASTING IS REQUIRED – Day 202

Text: MATTHEW 17:1-27

Memory Verse: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Mathew 17:21)

Message: There is no doubt that as believers we have a great authority in Christ. He gave us the power or authority to use His name. There is power and authority in that name as we use the name in faith against every satanic opposition and all the works of the wicked.
With all these authority at our disposals, our Lord Jesus Christ still emphasized the place and power of prayer especially when it is combined with fasting and when it comes to dealing with the forces of the wicked. A man brought his son that was possessed to the disciples but they could do nothing about his case, due to their unbelief and the absence of power which could have been generated in the place of prayers.
Fasting and prayers require a lot of discipline, self-denial and ability to endure. That is why many people; I mean children of God do not want to fast. But the truth is that we cannot live the victorious life that God wants us to live on this planet earth. It will also be difficult to exercise the dominion that God has given us over the powers of darkness. Fasting becomes a mere hunger strike when it is not combined with serious prayers and the studies of the word of God.

Wisdom Nugget: Fasting and prayers are not burdensome if we are armed with the word of God.

Prayer Point: I command every satanic opposition to be subdued in my life in Jesus name.
