THE REPROACH OF POVERTY – Day 198
Text: Proverbs 14:1-35
Memory Verse: He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his maker; but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor . (Proverbs 14:31)
Message: One of the greatest limitations of mankind is poverty; nothing can limit a man like poverty. You can have great plans, great vision, and great dreams and not be able to carry them out.Poverty begins with our mentality. People are limited because they accommodate the thoughts of limitations and inadequacies. God created and endowed us in such a way that we can live in abundance if we really choose to do so. Poverty brings shame and reproach. People beg because they are poor. How much dignity has beggars in our society? There are some who are begging because they are lazy or unwilling to work; some actually beg because they have disabilities, especially the disability of the mind. But some actually were forced into begging because of the untold hardship they had suffered from poverty. We must rise up and set ourselves free from the yoke of poverty by putting all we are learning into use. We must go for knowledge and turn from the way we think; we must make up our minds to do something with our hands,, brain, opportunities that God has given to us. We must also make up our minds to be faithful to God in our finances. The sky will not be your limit.
Wisdom Nugget: Those who suffered the affliction of poverty do not really need the devil to afflict them again, that will amount to double jeopardy.
Prayer Point: I decree and declare that I am free from poverty now and forever. I will obey the word of God and do all that I need to do to establish my freedom in Jesus name.
