THE REALITY OF SUPERNATURAL SUPPLIES – Day 174

Text: GENESIS 22:1-24

Memory Verse: And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together (Genesis 22:7-8)

Message: Although Abraham was not fully aware of what God had planned to do at the Mount of Moriah, he just told his son Isaac by faith that God will provide just to satisfy Isaac’s curiosity. But that actually is the truth about the God that we serve. As children of God we need to understand that God is our father and He is a miracle working God. He is able to do much more than we can ever ask of or even think. God specializes in doing the impossible. He specializes in bringing something out of nothing. God did not allow Abraham to kill his son for the sacrifice because he was fully persuaded that Abraham was ready or willing to offer his only son. God saw that Abraham had given up Isaac, laid him on the altar and took out his knife to slain his son. Above all, God saw his heart, He saw that Abraham had offered the boy in his heart. In verse 12 God said, “Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.”Verse 13 now says “And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son”. Where did the ram come from? That must be a supernatural supply. You too will enjoy supernatural supply this month in Jesus name.

Wisdom Nugget: If God is real, His ability to provide for His own is much more real.
