A SON HONOURETH HIS FATHER – Day 170

Text: MALACHI 1:1-14

Memory Verse: A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? (Malachi 1:6)

Message: The children of Israel were brought out of Egypt, the land of bondage, after Moses had persistently appeared to Pharaoh and after he had demonstrated the power of God to confound him. Eventually Pharaoh released them, although reluctantly. It was amazing to note that after they were released, the devil still pushed Pharaoh to pursue them. He then pursued them and they were confronted with the red sea in the front and the enemies behind them. The people of Israel were grieved with fear, they wept and cried bitterly but God rebuked them for such a negative attitude of unbelief. God said to Moses in verse 15 “And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward”. Even Moses himself cried and God had to tell him not to cry but to speak to the children of Israel to go forward. That is the will of God for our lives at all times. God wants us to go forward. It is not His will that we stay at the same level. There is no reason that is strong enough to keep us at the same level. God said they should hold their peace and that, He would fight for them. Beloved, you have troubled yourself enough; God is on your side, He will fight for you. He is already fighting for you, that is why the enemies cannot defeat you.

Wisdom Nugget: When God is fighting for you, there is no conspiracy of the wicked that can overpower you.

Prayer Point: Father, fight all my battles for me. I hand over all my battles unto you. Fight for me in Jesus name.
