BY A PROPHET – Day 169

Text: HOSEA 12:1-14

Memory Verse: And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved (Hosea 12:13)

Message: God has raised His servants which we usually call Prophets, Pastors or Apostles for the benefits of His children. God raised His prophets for the profits of His children. The children of Israel were brought out of the land of bondage and oppression by the prophetic Grace upon Moses and consequently Joshua. God has given His prophets or pastors grace and anointing no matter the nomenclature; God has given them the grace to help His people out of bondage. The role of the prophets are in two folds; Firstly, to bring the people out of every form of bondage and secondly, to preserve them. Unfortunately, so many people in the church believe that they do not need the ministry of the pastor or prophet anymore the moment they can see God’s intervention in their lives. Many even forget completely what their men of God have done for them. They see themselves as self-made people. I heard a man of God narrated the story of how God used him and his wife to sponsor a lady and her brother from secondary school to university level. Immediately they finished their youth service corps they said they have found their father who have neglected them for all these years. They packed their baggages and moved to their father without even remembering the man of God or the church. The man of God said he would have wept uncontrollably if not that God has blessed him with his own children. People can be so forgetful, cruel and callous.

Wisdom Nugget: God raises prophets for the profits of His people.

Prayer Point: Father, let my life be a blessing to others in my generation in Jesus name.
