DO NOT FORGET HIS WORKS – Day 158
Text: PSALM 78:1-72
Memory Verse: Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan (Psalm 78:41-43)
Message: Those who forget God usually do not remember the great works that God has wrought in their lives. It is not possible to constantly remember the deeds of God, His faithfulness and mercies and turn back against Him. We must make it our habits to constantly talk and sing about God’s works and mighty deeds in our lives. We must make it our habit to testify of His goodness at all times. We must forever be thankful to God for our salvation and for all the blessings and favour that we have received. We must not be like the people of Israel that we just read about in our text today who suddenly forgot all that God did in their lives. Often I wonder how someone can witness the deeds of God in the land of Egypt, how He turned their water into blood and caused frogs to fill everywhere, how He parted the red sea and caused His people to pass on dry ground. I am still amazed to know that people can see all that and still doubt God or walk in unbelief. We must not be like such people in our generation. We must consciously and constantly remember His wonderful doings in our lives.
Wisdom Nugget: If we forget His benefits, we can no longer enjoy more of His benefits. His benefits multiply as we consciously choose to remember.
Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace not to forget all your works in my life in Jesus name.
