THEY THAT SOW IN TEARS – Day 151

Text: PSALM 126:1-6

Memory Verse: They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him (Psalm 126:5,6)

Message: It is not enough to give. The way we give, how we give, the quality of what we give and the timing of our giving really matters to God as well. There are some children of God who erroneously think that one must have abundance or plenty of money or plenty of anything before they can give. Some also think that those who give do not really have much responsibility or that they do not really have what to do with money. But all these are far from the truth. We give, not because we have too much but because God commanded it. We also give because there are genuine needs. A pastor once told the church that they need not to spiritualize the issue of giving because every child of God pays electricity bills, water bills at home. So also do we pay in the church and that of the church is not supposed to be paid by angels, we are to pay for it. Many churches would have closed down if they had waited or depended on the way many people give. We also give because we know and believe that God will give us much more in return. There is no better way to display our faith in God and His word than in our giving. Do not tell me you understand faith if you cannot give generously and sacrificially. Do not tell me you know how to honour God if you cannot honour Him with your substance.

Wisdom Nugget: You do not truly honour God if you cannot honour Him with your money.

Prayer Point: Father, I receive the grace to honour you with my time, energy and resources in Jesus name.
